A curious toddler was able to squeeze through the metal fencing at the north end of the executive mansion, earning him the title of tiniest White House intruder.

Secret Service officers from the Uniformed Division, which is responsible for security at the White House, retrieved the child and returned him to his parents on Pennsylvania Avenue. While officers conducted the reunification, access to the complex was temporarily restricted. A brief questioning by officers was conducted before the parents were allowed to continue their journey.

According to Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, officers encountered a curious young visitor along the north fence line of the White House.

In a statement, he said that the White House security systems immediately alerted Secret Service officers who quickly reunited the toddler with his parents.
